Mindful Moves Triangle Sequence
August 4, 2026 Prepared for you By Sarahsea on Tlingit Anni, the land of the Tlingit people: People of the Tides.
Song is Camioux by Boozoo Bajo
The triangle is our catalyst today. With the points of the triangle and the long planes between. We are thinking about the journey of each length before the point and the point. What is the point? Is it a realization or a word? An answer? A location or an “ah-ha” moment? Is it a task we can tick off the todo list? Let’s walk, dance, move along the triangles lengths to the points. There is no wrong answer here and no wrong way to move. You know all of this already. You are here to be with what you already know. Follow it.
First Chakra:
Song Lila by Benjy Wertheimer and John Do Kadt
Wherever you are you are invited to feel your tailbone which naturally points down. The chakra’s color is red, imagine the triangle pointing down into the earth. You may feel moved to bring your hands to your back and feel the fingers touch over your last spine, feeling into the natural triangle shape of this form in your hands. The element is earth. This song is for rooting down. Each chakra has a stage of development. This is the time we were knitted together in the womb, this is the time we were born, this is the solid soil which made you viable for life, the stable surface and nourishment provided and accepted and put to use. The triangle may be seen to point up as well as it fills and stabilizes. Muladhara: Root
2nd Chakra
Song Time by Toshikil Soejima & Nahokimama
Perhaps you can picture a full cone of water, so full the surface of the water has a slight mound shape. You may be moved to lay your hands below your navel or on your lower back and imagine the cone of water here. As you move the water is spilling out and the spill is the most perfectly appropriate spilling there is, the rivulets, the droplets, the tears, the splashes coming down the sides and nourishing the ground we dance on. If the people in your life were grass, they need this water too. This is the discovery of pleasure at one year old, as we are not just viable for life but able to experience the juicy pleasure in it and reach and take and feel. Svadhisthana: Sweetness
3rd Chakra
Song: “Ma-Ma” FC by Ballake’ Sissoko & Vincent Segal
We have come to the fire. Imagine 2 stones. One is iron pyrite and the other is a triangle of flint. Bringing the flint to the pyrite to make sparks to light the fire within you. When we were two and 3 we discovered a will to do and to get and to take and we could do it! Our two feet and our grasping fingers, our internal spark was alive and able. I also want to speak to the fires which burn too hot and fast and may feel out of control or exhausting. If this speaks to you, recognize this fire as a place to sit in comfort and warmth and calm understanding. Pause your action and let the fire be a place for rest. You might say to yourself, “I don’t need this right now but it is here. I observe it and recognize its power is my power.” Manipura: Lustrous Gem
4th Chakra
Song: Jaago by Lifafa
We recede from the fire and take a long slow walk up an ever so gradual incline to a peak, a point above, the top of the Mt. Triangle. Our chest fills with air as we walk this gentile slope. It is a comfortable feeling and it fills us with a beautiful expansive sensation in our chests, our heart chakra. The color is green like the trees we can see out before us. You may want to bring your hands to your heart and feel the natural triangles form in our fingers and hands and arms and elbows. To love and be loved. The warm air of this mountain breeze holds and fills you. Dance with it. Ananhata: Unstruck
5th Chakra
Song: Ramalama (Bang Bang) by Roisin Murphy
Imagine the triangles reach. It starts small at the throat but grows out from there with each long line reaching out and out and out. We express individuality in the strong shape of our true voice. Firmly planted in the triangle, we’ve grown, our voice is resonant, we listen well to ourselves and others and we have clear communication and we live with creativity. The color is blue, true blue. The singer sings about hearing a true note. This chakra is developed when we are 7-12 years old. Abuse of this chakra is excessive criticism which blocks creativity. We are nourished by being allowed to speak our truth and be listened to. We are purified by sharing our true voice, exercising our truth and expressing our truth. Vissudah: Purification
6th Chakra
Song Farewell Wave by Glen Balez
If you feel moved to steeple your fingers with me do so. You can also visualize the triangles of your hands together. I open the hands out keeping the finger tips of the pinky, ring finger and middle together. Here the eyes may see all the triangles presented in the negative space between the fingers and the hands. Our 6th chakra’s element is light. The color is indigo. We develop pattern recognition in our adolescence as our intuition and ability to think symbolically appears and activates us. Our eyes have cones which are 3d triangles. There are 3 different types of cones, the L-Cones have long wavelengths of red. The M-Cones have medium wavelengths of green. The S-Cones have short wavelengths of blue. Our song is long and offers ample opportunity to be with our sense of intuition. This chakra can be stunted if what we see does not go with what we are told. Also if your intuition and psychic occurrences are invalidated. This work we are doing today reclaims this sense. You have entered the temple of your power, your truth and your vision. Follow it. Ajna: to Perceive and Command
7th Chakra
Song: One River by Benjy Witheimer and John de Kadt
If you are moved to bring your finger tips together let's breathe into the natural space created between the palms. Breath into the power in the space between your hands and imagine a violet light. Understanding fills this warm and living space. If you are moved and able, lift your hands above your head and bring them down to rest on your head. Here we simply let the crown of your hands melt down and your arms extend out. You are crowned with awareness. The element is thought, the color is violet. The purpose of this chakra is understanding, our identity becomes universal, we are assimilating our knowledge. Stay with yourself, stay with your body, breathing as you are still rooted here and whole. Sahasrara: Thousandfold
Return Trip begins in silence
Now we take time to reverse the current from liberating to manifesting, back to earth. 7th You may steeple your hands on your head and slide them down and out: breathe Sahasrara: Thousandfold
6th You may bring your hands before you with fingertips touching and open the palms: breathe Ajna: to Perceive
5th You may bring your finger tips to your throat and then arms open out straight feeling the long angles going out and out: breathe Vissudah: Purification
4th You may bring your palms to your chest and feel your breath rise and fall as the triangle shapes of your fingers support this love Anahata: Unstruck
3rd You may imagine in your hands 2 triangle stones and bring the flint of one stone to the pyrite of another stone creating a spark and a fire above your bellybutton: breathe Manipura: Lustrous Gem
2nd You may wish to bring your palms below your center where the waters are held and released and bring pleasure: breathe Svadhisthana: Sweetness
1st You may bring your hands to your tailbone and feel the lower spine point down or you may choose place your hands on the floor and feel the long line of the base of this triangle you have created, resting rooted on the earth: breathe Muladhara: Root
Song: Wildfire by Watchhouse Please use this time to stretch or dance or lay still and let the journey land. Gunalche’esh for dancing with me. In Tlingit it means, “without you, this would not be possible.” I believe we are stronger in community as we witness each other in our humanity and creativity.
Gunalche’esh,
Sarah C Hanson Hofstetter
